3DS price and lineup announced!

Hello everyone! So we may be paying 300 dollars for a 3DS, which is pretty damn pricey.  But with this lineup, it looks like i'm definitely going to be purchasing one on day one for me and my kids. Capcom has Resident Evil: Mercenaries, Mega Man Legends 3, and Super Street Fighter IV. Konami has a 3D-fying Snake Eater. Nintendo has Mario Kart, Paper Mario and Zelda. That's already a strong lineup right there, but there are more titles coming to support the Nintendo 3DS which might make it worth the money.

Also, Nintendo didn't forget about the Wii while they were busy with the 3DS. Here's a quick montage of their lineup that they released.

Looks like i'm going to be making quite a dent in my wallet next year.

Awesome Solitaire.

Hello everyone! I've been busy lately and I haven't really been able to update as often as I'd like. So i'm just going to do a quick update with this awesome trailer for a game called Awesome Solitaire for the Iphone and Ipod. Awesome Solitaire was released earlier this month on the Itunes App Store for $ .99. I actually picked it up for free last weekend during the sale. It's a pretty fun time killer, but it's still solitaire.

Mega Man 8-Bit Deathmatch trailer!

Mega Man 8-bit Deathmatch is a fan-made Doom2 mod that basically turns the world of Mega Man into a FPS. You get to play as Mega Man or the robot masters and kill each other with special weapons from the classic series. Looks pretty good. I'm downloading the demo right now to try it out :)

Here's the trailer for the weapons.

You can get the demo here http://cutstuff.net/blog/?p=2218

Dreamcast.

Retro Gaming VS. Modern Gaming!

It's worth a watch. Check it out.

Some mixes from Mista Donut and B.K. Akila.

Time for a little music update. This one is for you hip-hop heads. These are some mixes that I absolutely love. For those that don't know, Mista Donut is a writer/DJ/producer out of Japan. Those into Japanese hip-hop may have heard of him through his superb mixes released on the Subcontact label. He also does "Drum Lesson", a monthly hip-hop event in Koufu, Yamanashi.

First up is "Summer Jam '07", by Mista Donut and Bonchi Kuts Akilla (Too Perverted Brothers). Its a pretty chill mix of hip-hop, jazz, some soul, and I even spotted a Maeda Norio joint on there . The intro is kind of long. Anyhow, enjoy:

Next up we have "Too Perverted Blends". This time they do a pretty straightforward mash-up style mix of hip-hop acapellas and instrumentals. Blends and cuts smooth as butter, and some interesting choices for the mixes:

Props goes out to Dr. Malta.

Nintendo 3DS hardware specs revealed?

Good morning everyone! Time for a little update with Nintendo's upcoming handheld, the 3DS. So what's inside the innards of the upcoming Nintendo 3DS? Well, if sources close to IGN is to be believed, the upcoming 3D-enabled handheld is one mighty little device. According to IGN, the 3DS will boast not one, but two 266MHz ARM11 CPUs, a 133MHz GPU, 4MBs of dedicated VRAM, 64MBs of RAM and 1.5GBs of flash storage. While the source wasn't able to provide any other details of the ARM11 processors the 3DS will feature, the site points out that early iPhone models as well as current gen Microsoft Zunes and other Android smartphones also used the ARM11 processor. The site added:
"As we learned in June, the 3DS' GPU has been named DMP's PICA200, which features a maximum processing speed of roughly 200MHz, though it seems Nintendo is scaling it back a bit for use in the 3DS. Numerous developers working on software for the platform have likened its graphical capabilities to current-generation consoles like the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, albeit on smaller, lower-resolution screens."

"The handheld will also have substantially larger storage capacity than preceding models, jumping from only 256MBs on the DSI to 1.5GBs of flash memory on the 3DS. The total drive space can, of course, be expanded using the 3DS' SD card slot."

Here's just some of the games and franchises announced by Nintendo and it's 3rd part friends.

Duane and Brand0.

Hello everyone! Time for another video game music update.  This one is done by Duane and Brand0 (Although they aren't a group anymore).  Some of you probably know all about these guys.  But for those that don't; they're pretty awesome! They take classic games and put their own funny raps over it.  If you want to hear more from them check out their shared site at http://www.duane-and-brando.com/Due to the breakup, the site is no longer updated, but it will be staying up so you'll still be able to access all of the downloads, vieos, and lyrics on the site. Hope you guys enjoy.

Here's one of their songs.

Tocky!

Orange Tocky.
Just wanted to let you guys know about this awesome thing that I bought. Yesterday, I was at the mall with my wife and kids.  After what seemed like hours of shopping, we decided to exit through Nordstrom's.  As we're about to leave I see this awesome display of  toy balls running around in a little container.  When I took a closer look I realized that these toys were actually alarm clocks! I bought one even though they were pretty damn expensive. These things are really awesome, they fall off your night stand and roll around the room while it plays MP3s or just makes some loud, annoying ass sounds. And you can only hit the snooze button once! I actually used it this morning and it definitely woke me up right away because I had to chase the damn thing into the bathroom. Oh yeah, I also put a soulja boy song on it so I HAD to shut it up.

Here's a clip of it in action.

Ip Man.

Today, I thought i'd stray away from the video games and post one of my favorite movies.  When I first saw the movie, I said to myself,"This is not something usual, this is unusual and this is better than Ong-Bak (Thai Movie)." I definitely have to let others watch this movie especially if you are a Bruce Lee fan.Because this is the story of Bruce Lee's kung fu master Ip Man.

Here's a little review I found online.

Ip Man is a 2008 Hong Kong martial arts semi-biographical film that is based on the life of Ip Man, the celebrated martial arts master of Bruce Lee, and the first to teach the Chinese martial art of Wing Chun openly. The film focuses on events surrounding Ip Man that took place in the city of Foushan in China between the 1930s to 1940s during the Second Sino-Japanese War.

Ip Man is the first film to be based on the life of the martial artist rather than the martial art itself. The producer Raymond Wong developed this film with full consent from Ip's sons, and had filmmakers head to Foushan, to research Master Ip Man's life. Ip Chun, Ip Man's eldest son, served as a consultant for the film.

Ip Man was released in Hong Kong on 18 December 2008, receiving widespread acclaim from both critics and audiences. Following its critical and commercial success, Ip Man was nominated for 12 Hong Kong Film Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Director.

Here's one of the fight scenes from the movie. Pretty awesome.

What would you do if you were the last man standing in that fight?

Team Teamwork!

A little bored right now, so thought I would update with some video game related music that i've listen too.
Here's an awesome mix done by Team Teamwork in The Ocarina of Rhyme.
Imo, this is the only way Slim Thug and Mike Jones can sound good :)
Check out the rest of their work if your into these kind of mixes. They're pretty good.
If you got any suggestions on some cool video game related music.. post some links :)

Team ICO HD reboot coming to PS3

So here's a PS3 update. I might be a little late to the party, but i'm pretty excited for the re-release of Team ICO's titles.
Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu has revealed that the long rumored HD remakes of Team ICO’s previous PS2 masterpieces, ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, is heading to the PlayStation 3.

Although details are a bit scarce at the moment, according to reports, the PS2 classics will be released as two separate games in Japan although a leaked boxart from a European retailer listed the game this morning as Ico and the Shadow of Colossus Collection in their database.

Sony is expected to reveal more info about the collection at the Tokyo game show this week. Stay tuned.

I'm pretty damn excited for HD versions of these games.

On a related note.. here's a video of a a Playstation Move commercial I found on youtube.

Guile's theme goes with everything.

I was at the club earlier and everyone was doing flash kicks on the dance floor.
I guess Guile's theme does go with everything.
Time for me to go home and be a family man.

Final Fantasy XIV ad goes live action

With the PC version release looming so close, Square Enix is now ramping up publicity for Final Fantasy XIV. But instead of showing how awesome the game looks, like in the opening cinematic, they opted to go live action, so you end up with a pretty big cosplay party to promote the game.

Final Fantasy XIV launches for the PC on September 30th, while the PS3 version will have to wait until March 2011.

I don't know if I should be excited about this game. I mean I did play XI back when it first came out for about a year. What's your guys opinions? Will you be getting it?

Japan has embraced Kinect - MS

Japan has embraced Kinect - MS

"The Japanese development community has embraced Kinect." This was the bold proclamatino made by Microsoftthrough Aaron Greenberg, Xbox product head, at the TGS 2010.

"We came here back in the days of Project Natal and we met with the creators and developmers. It's clear they wanna be on the frontline of Kinect. We'll continue to invest in games that are designed to be played in a controller. But to allow somebody that's never played a game before that doesn't need to use a manual and can step in front of a game and instantly play is something that Kinect enables.
I just played Table Tennis on the show floor. I'd never played it before and nobody had to tell me how to play. It's very clear. I hit the ball with my hands; it was fun, it was intuitive." He also raved about how Japanese developers have already come up with "things we've never imagined."
Maybe the launch of the motion controllers can do something to boost once more the creativity of the Japanese gaming industry, if Inafune is to be believed that it has indeed stagnated.
