Monster Hunter Portable 3rd's boxart revealed

Capcom is all geared up for the release of Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, the latest portable incarnation of the hit Monster Hunter franchise.

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd is set for release in Japan on December 1st. No release date for the US has been set yet unfortunately. At last month's TGS event in Japan, Capcom unveiled a limited edition PSP that will be available at launch. Dubbed as the "Hunters PSP," the redesigned handheld features a concave analog stick with thick battery cover to add comfort for fans of the game. It also packs a 3.6v 2200mAH battery for longer playing time.

psp3
Time is definitely no longer on the side of the current PSPunits. SCEE has given official word to developers that they will no longer be selling dev kits after November 15th.

Said the notice, the company will "no longer be selling the PSP development tool (dtp-t2000a) or testing tool (dtp-h2500a)". Now if the devs still want to make some last minute projects for these PSP models, then they should try and get their hands on the dev kits before the aforementioned deadline of November 15.

There's no need for concern, though, because as soon as Sony comes out with the new model, they'll be advising the devs so that they can avail of it. Said Sony, "Due to the certification on the current development and test tools expiring, we will be stopping selling them on November 15. However, we will continue to provide loan stock for registered and new developers, until a new certified model is available."

With these dev kits "expiring", and Sony talking of a newer certified model, this certainly only further hypes the speculation of a PSP2 coming to town very soon. If only for that, people will definitely be looking forward to this expiration date.

Team ICO HD reboot coming to PS3

So here's a PS3 update. I might be a little late to the party, but i'm pretty excited for the re-release of Team ICO's titles.
Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu has revealed that the long rumored HD remakes of Team ICO’s previous PS2 masterpieces, ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, is heading to the PlayStation 3.

Although details are a bit scarce at the moment, according to reports, the PS2 classics will be released as two separate games in Japan although a leaked boxart from a European retailer listed the game this morning as Ico and the Shadow of Colossus Collection in their database.

Sony is expected to reveal more info about the collection at the Tokyo game show this week. Stay tuned.

I'm pretty damn excited for HD versions of these games.

On a related note.. here's a video of a a Playstation Move commercial I found on youtube.
