Welcome to the Jungle: Introducing Panasonic's MMORPG handheld

The Jungle has been finally brought out into the wild. This is Panasonic's entry to the handheld gaming market, but what sets it apart from old-timers is that it caters exclusivley for online gaming and MMORPGs.

Sporting a full QWERTY keyboard and a touchpad, with d-pad and shoulder buttons, the Jungle promises to make your PC gaming more efficiently mobile. Finally, MMORPG gamers can enjoy sunshine out in the open and not just when they peer through their window blindtocheck if their pizza delivery is there.

It's not necessarily ergonomical given its bulky design, but as long as it gets the job done, players shouldn't be complaining. A test gamer who was able to handle it at the recent PAX event said, "The screen resolution is bananas. Everyone was freaking out about it." Other features said to be in this package are the HDMI port as well as Wi-Fi. Still unconfirmed is that the gadget will be running on Linux OS.

There's still not a lot of info about Panasonic's jungle, but they did launch a website for it. Feel free to check it out through this link here.

  1. So get one of these, hop on your segway, and experience total nerd-immersion! :)

I'd play with it if someone got it for mew though, so I am a big hypocrite. (I'd also love a segway.)

  6. If it's running linux, it will be mostly useless for most gamers...

Otherwise either A, you have to pay to port every game to the system. or B, you have to do WINE, and that affects performance, or C, game developers have to start programing for linux..and that will never happen.

  10. Hmmm, looks interesting. I honestly don't think it will work out in the long run, but it could be the stepping stone into something completely new for gamers. Which I'm all in favor of.
